These symptoms may be due to an episode of mania, a core feature of bipolar disorder, or manic-depression. The Mood Lab at the Psychology Department of the University of Miami is committed to better understanding bipolar disorder, as well as developing treatments that help people cope with this disorder.
We have several research projects open to participation. We are also conducting several paid research studies to learn more about bipolar disorder.
Sheri L. Johnson, Ph.D., professor, directs the laboratory. Her previous research has been funded by NIMH and NARSAD and she has recently edited the book, Psychological Treatments of Bipolar Disorder, Guilford Press.
